The way I will always remember my grandma as, is the woman who loved me and always thought I was much younger than I was.
This would show when she would go shopping with one of my aunts, she would pick out a nice shirt, and ask them if they think I would like it. Mother, they would say to her, that shirt is a 3T, it wont fit. Sure it would, she would say, he's only 4. She was off by 10 years or so, but she would always want to pick me up something.
One night before my twenty-first birthday, I asked her how old she thought I was. She started at 12, and I told her higher. She then answered 13, and I told her higher, she got up, year-by-year, all the way to 16 and refused to go one year higher than that. I was her youngest grandson, the baby, and to her I would always be that way, regardless of age.
I love you grandma, and I will miss you everyday. -Derek
