Margaret Clark's Obituary
Margaret Marie Clark, age 89, passed away August 16, 2013, at her home in Warren. She was born in Birchlaf, Virginia, on January 11, 1924, to McKinley & Pearl Deel.
Loving Wife of Clyde Clark.
Marie was the second born of seven children and is survived by her siblings, Esther Edwards, Homer Deel, Wanda (Jim) Long, Kennith (Ann) Deel, Farley (Fern) Deel and Linda (Raymond) Deel.
She has three children; Carma (Ted) Prevost, Jerry (Jim) Rozanski, Edgar (Pat) Deel. Marie has nine grand children, thirteen great grand children, and eight great-great grand children. Marie was a wonderful wife and the matriarch of the family. Family was always number one to Marie. She was the go-to person in the family if you had problems or needed someone to confide in. She was a great problem solver and a positive motivator. Marie was also an excellent cook with down home southern cooking; her specialty.
Marie worked up to age 70, doing assembly work in the manufacturing industry. She was most proud of the assembly work she did that was for the military. She knew it was supporting our armed forces, our country, and ultimately protecting her family.
Christmas was Marie's favorite time of the year; she always held the Christmas dinner. Her home was always beautifully decorated for the holidays with the inspiration from her visits to Bronners; her favorite place to visit in Frankenmuth.
Marie's favorite color was Pink. This was reflected in her decor and the pink brick home she and her husband Clyde lived in for the last twenty years. Marie was also a collector of dolls. Her very large collection had some unique dolls and some that look very realistic.
She was a huge fan of 'Big Time Wrestling' and visited Cobo Hall many times to cheer on some of her favorites like Dick the Bruiser, George "the animal” Steele, Andre the Giant and Leaping Larry Shane. She was even watching wrestling in the last weeks of her life, sharing her passion for it with her great-great grand children. Marie also enjoyed watching her soap operas during the day and it was well known not to call between 12:30 and 2:00, as not to disturb her soap opera time. Sling Blade and The Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy were two of her favorite movies. She also enjoyed watching horror movies with her grand daughter Rhonda and their movie nights were complete with popcorn. She also enjoyed jig saw puzzles, bingo and an occasional trip to the casino to try her luck at winning big.
Marie had a generous heart and to pass on her memory, we are sure she would appreciate it if you were to buy a friend a flower, fill out an organ donation card, or do a good deed.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 3:00 - 9:00 PM, with the funeral taking place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
