Loretta G. Esler, age 91 of Ferndale, Michigan passed away on June 3, 2023 in Warren, Michigan. She was born on March 2, 1932 in Richmond, Michigan to Joseph and Irene Riedel.
Beloved wife of Robert Esler for 69 years. They married on May 22, 1954 in Richmond, Michigan. Dear mother of Gregory (Renee) Esler, Douglas (Paula) Esler, Lori (Michael) Marcella, and Linda Hayduk. Cherished grandmother of Rhoda (Ron), the late Doug, Robert (Millie), Matthew (Ben), Mary (Brent), Christine, Megan (David), Nicholas (Shelly), Christopher (Angela), and Allison (Kyle). Great-grandmother of 12. Loretta is survived by her siblings, Joseph Riedel, James Riedel, David Riedel, Shirley Kessler. She is pre-deceased by her siblings Bernard Riedel, Lucille Thelen, Irene Stevens, Roy Riedel and Phyllis Kaatz.
Loretta was a hardworking, loving and loyal wife and mother. She was very devoted to her Catholic faith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 7 from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm. A private Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Doug Esler Scholarship Fund for De La Salle Collegiate.
