To the Andersons-My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Linnea was my godmother. I cannot begin to describe the love that she and Al showed to my sister and I when we were growing up. My earliest memories are of Linnea & Al coming over to visit and having not just one gift for their goddaughter, but two gifts, one for me and one for my sister, Nora, so Nora wouldn't feel left out. Dinners at Linnea & Al's were always a feast, and afterwards, my mom and dad would talk for hours with Linnea and Al while I played with a huge box full of toys. She would always let me hold her Emmett Kelly doll when I visited, even though it was a collector's item that no child should have probably handled...but that's how Linnea was with me.
I would spend a week every summer at their place up North- more good food, and lots of love and friendship. I recieved a card from Linnea a few months ago after I was in the hospital. She wished me well, and wrote that she hoped having her unusual name was not a "burden" in my life...Reading it brought tears to my eyes, knowing how honored I've felt all of these years to have the beautiful name of a such a beautiful woman.
Thank you, Linnea, for being my godmother and a dear, loyal friend to my parents. I take comfort in knowing that you are reunited with your beloved Al in heaven.
