Leona Mary Peklo's Obituary
Leona Mary Peklo passed peacefully to eternal life at the age of 96 years old on April 5th, 2020.
Beloved wife of Gustie Peklo (deceased). Loving mother of Andrew (Diane), Elizabeth Mulkerrin (Michael), Martin (Laurie). Grandmother of Drew (Maggie), Shawn (Christina), Nathan, Justin (Jillian), Matthew (Maria), Zachary, and Claire Mulkerrin.
Leona was a devout Catholic and an active member at St. Vincent Ferrer church in Madison Heights. She was an auxiliary member of the Knights of Columbus. Leona started her career at AAA of Michigan; then raised a family; and finished at J.L.Hudson’s.
Leona will be remembered for her loving smile and sweet kindness. Leona was famous for her cucumbers and sour cream salad. It was loved by all.
Due to the COVID-19 virus and Archdiocese of Detroit funeral restrictions, a memorial mass will be celebrated in the near future. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Capuchins are appreciated.
A private committal service will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on April 14, 2020.
