Lawrence R. Shindel's Obituary
Lawrence Richard Shindel, age 70 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. He was born on March 18, 1954 in Wayne County, Michigan.
Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Hazel Park and Ferndale. He graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1972. Larry worked as a Metro Detroit Disc Jockey for clubs and events for many years. He also hosted a radio program while living in Alaska. His passion, knowledge and love of music was unprecedented. He took great pride and joy introducing rare and new music to anyone who would listen.
Lawrence is proceeded in death by his parents, Mr. Richard and Mrs. Mary Emily Shindel. He is survived by his children: daughter, Celeste Shindel Picaso, and sons, Valentine Shindel and Cutberto Gonzalez. Grandfather of Dominic Shindel and Chandler Gonzalez. Great-Grandfather of Cain Gonzalez. Mother of his children, Claudia Shindel. Brother of Elaine (Eric) Klaus and Mary Ellen (Paul) Shuffett.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 27th from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Service from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan.
