Larry Douglas Ramsey's Obituary
Larry Douglas Ramsey, age 68, of Warren, Michigan, formerly of Largo, Florida, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday July 19, 2025.
Born on March 28, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, Larry was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, husband and father. ACTS 20:35 ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’ Larry embodied the spirit of selflessness and generosity, and his heart knew no limits in giving and kindness. He possessed a brilliant mind and touched the lives of many with his sense of humor and quick wit.
Larry was enjoying retirement after over 25 years with General Motors Hydramatic in Warren. He stayed active playing in many softball leagues and bowling leagues over the years. He loved the time he spent watching WWE with his son. From the Tigers to the Red Wings, Larry was a proud and devoted fan of all Detroit’s sports teams and was loyal to the Michigan State Spartans, his alma mater.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda, his son Brandon, his siblings, Shirley Allen (Jim) of Hazel Park, Sandy Murphy (Randy) of Cary, NC, Sharon Thrasher (Steve) of Warren, Nancy Thompson (Dale) of Middletown, DE, Tammie Ramsey (Ron) of Hazel Park, Jeff Ramsey of Roseville, and Angela Roberts (Tony) of Madison Heights, his aunt Janice Pratico of Warren, two uncles Henry Ramsey of Virginia, Bobby Ramsey of Tennessee, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins – all who will forever cherish his memory.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Herman Ramsey, stepmother Mary Ramsey, his mother Ann Ochoa and stepfather Bob Ochoa.
A gathering to honor and celebrate Larry will begin on Friday, July 25 at 3:00 pm and will continue until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan.
Due to the ongoing construction on John R. Road, it is advised that those who plan on attending the services for Larry Douglas Ramsey to turn onto Brush Street from 13 Mile Road to use our back entrance.
