Kenny my dear cousin I am so saddened by your loss words can not express the pain. I am going to miss you so much. I am going to cherish the phone calls and emails we have had lately that much more. I love you, and hope you are in the arms of the angels. i hope you have some peace now. rest your gentle soul, you have always been a gentle soul.
I am sorry to read of your loss. I would like to briefly share something that has proven to be deeply comforting to me. I have been comforted by knowing what the Bible really teaches about death. The Bible teaches that God has the power to create more angels if needed. So he never tragically takes people from their friends and family to be with him. That would just be evil. James 1:13 promises, “with evil things God cannot be tried, nor does he himself try anyone.” Job 34:10 also says, “ Far be it for the true God to act wickedly.” The reason people die goes back to Adam and Eve. They were created perfect. They had the prospect of living a perfect life in perfect paradise conditions, on earth forever. At Genesis 2:17 it shows they only had one rule to obey. The penalty for disobeying that rule, was death. Chapter 3 of the book of Genesis shows how they willfully disobeyed that one rule and that resulted in a miserable life of imperfection and eventually death. Because they had no children prior to their act of deliberate disobedience, Romans 5:12 explains, “ death spread to all.” That’s why humans in general die, men, woman, old and young. Look also at Psalms 51: 5 as this scripture shows that even from the moment of conception, we all are prone to death.
The Bible also clearly identifies the condition of the dead. Ecclesiastes 9:5 says, “the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all”. Additionally the Bible shows what the soul is. Some falsely teach at death, the soul is inside us and it survives, either to be eternally rewarded or endlessly punished. Carefully look at Genesis 2:7. Notice, Adam came to be a living soul, not have a soul. So the person, the individual is the soul. Each living individual is a soul. Animals are souls too as Numbers 31:28 teaches us. Ezekiel 18:4 says that souls die. So all who have died, are in the grave, unconscious as if in a very peaceful deep sleep.
Jesus Christ used the term sleep to describe the condition of his deceased friend Lazarus, at John 11:11-14. We can learn a lot from this. Sleeping is a fitting analogy when talking about death. Just as when we are sleeping, we don’t know what’s going on around us, so it is for dead ones. This experience harmonizes with the scripture mentioned earlier at Ecclesiastes 9:5. Also a person can be awakened from sleep, so Jesus can and will bring our loved ones back from the dead. He raised Lazarus at John 11:43, 44. This proves that with the power given to him by his Father, he can and soon will raise many back to life, never again to be separated from their loved ones in this manner. Isaiah 25:8 declares, “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces.” Isaiah 26:19 adds, “Your dead ones will live…they will rise up.” In addition to restoring life to many, the entire earth will be restored to the condition Jesus Christ mentioned at Luke 23:43 as, "paradise." In that soon to come paradise, all forms of suffering will be totally eliminated. Revelation 21:3, 4 assures, "God...will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." It is my sincere wish for the surviving family and friends to allow these few Bible truths to provide a measure of comfort, hope and endurance. (Romans 15:4)
your gonna be truly missed my dear friend. my thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
