Karen (maiden Ellis) Telfer's Obituary
Karen Telfer, age 60 of Hazel Park, Michigan and formerly of Warren, Michigan passed away on July 26, 2023 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. She was born on November 3, 1962 in Detroit, Michigan to Edward John and Geraldine Joan (maiden Wysocki) Ellis.
Beloved Wife of the late David Telfer who passed away July 19, 2019. Dear Sister of Cynthia Knox-Ellis, Donna Davis-Ellis (deceased) and Pamela Urban-Ellis.
Karen was the oldest of four siblings. She was raised in Warren and loved her work as a Corporate Travel Agent. Ironically, she didn’t like to travel herself, but was very good at what she did and loved to help people. She was asked for by name by many clients. She had a deep passion for animals having fostered many dogs. One of her dogs, Jackson, she rescued from euthanasia in Tennessee and had him flown to Michigan. She will always be remembered for her compassion for animals.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 22nd beginning at 10:30 am - Memorial Instate followed by the 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Justin Church, Hazel Park, Michigan (corner of E. Evelyn Ave and Merrill Ave). Burial will follow at 12:30 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit, Michigan. Immediately following the burial a Memorial Reception will be held at Royal Oak Brewery.
