I met Julie at Roosevelt Elementary School when Fred was in 2nd grade and Scot in 1st in Mrs. Lieberman's split 1st 2nd grade. Julie was pregnant with Kim and I was pregnant with Jennifer. shared many great times together above Harsens island in Fernfale. did lots of crazy things have lots of fun and I will miss her dearly god bless you Julie rest in peace.
Sending my deepest sympathy to the entire Hodge family. My children were friends with Kim and Doug and thru the years I formed a great friendship with Julie. I really treasure the memories of the summer weekends we spent on Harsens Island with our kids. Julie had remarkable patience with the teenagers and their constant antics. Sometimes those antics were directed at getting a reaction out of her but she always took everything in stride. She loved her children without question and she always welcomed their friends sometimes dozens of them at a time. She was generous and kind and someone I could always talk to and count on for some wise advise. I think my favorite memories involve the summer that our two daughters worked at Jet's Pizza. We would pick them up on Friday nights and drive up to the island in the wee hours of the morning. There would be lots of talking and laughing on those dark roads as we made our way to the ferry and on to the island. Just enjoying our girls and conversation and lots of laughing.
