John Philip Warrick's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of John Philip Warrick of Coleman, Michigan, formerly of Midland, Michigan, who died at age 60 on August 5, 2024 at his home. John was a devoted father to Daniel Philip Warrick, Joanna Christine Warrick, and Kathrynne Anelle Warrick and a cherished brother of Michael (Lisa) Warrick, Dennis (Jodi) Warrick, Anne Marie (Bob) McGuire, and Rose Marie (Jim) Blackford.
John was born on February 7, 1964 to William Herbert and Margaret June Warrick in Detroit, Michigan. He studied at Wayne State University and worked as a chemical processing technician for many years. After retiring, John found joy in substitute teaching, particularly in math and science classes, where his passion for learning truly shone.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to John. He delighted in sharing his extensive movie and music collection. He cherished spending time in nature with his canine companion, Luna, and was always busy with his latest outdoor project. In such a busy world, John had a remarkable ability to savor each moment and never missed an opportunity to take a “quick stretch break”. John will be fondly remembered for his “big kid” personality and enormous heart he shared with family and friends alike.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm. To commemorate his life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held on Monday, August 12th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial ceremony will follow at Oakview Cemetery, 1032 N Main St, Royal Oak, MI. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be sorely missed. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a donation to the National Wildlife Federation.
