John Mikelsavage's Obituary
John W. “Mike” Mikelsavage, born Christmas Day 1924, passed away October 4, 2008. John worked in sales for many years. He was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the Battle of the Bulge. He lived in the Detroit area most of his life. Aviation and cars were two of his passions. He was proud of being an AA member for over 30 years.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Sophie (Yurgutis) Mikelsavage, his brother Stanley, sister Grace Churbock, and daughter Teresa Wilhelm. He is survived by his fiancée Marge Ward, son John and daughter-in-law Lori, daughter Karen Dorren, son-in-law Wayne Wilhelm, former wife Bernice Lewis, sister-in-law Marlene, brother-in-law Joseph Churbock, grandchildren Terra Buselt, Mikel Dorren, Jamie Dorren, and Nick Mikelsavage, and many other beloved family members and friends.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2008, 1 p.m.at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, Madison Heights. The family will receive family and friends two hours prior to the service. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous in John’s memory.
