John Albert Dudek's Obituary
Obituary for John A. Dudek
John Albert Dudek age 76 of Oakland Township, Michigan passed away on February 1, 2024 at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital. He was born on August 11, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Elizabeth Dudek. John grew up in a loving home, always welcoming family and friends.
He graduated from Hazel Park High School. After high school, John attended a four-year college program at the Society of Arts and Crafts in Detroit, Michigan (later known as the Center for Creative Studies) where he studied illustration and design. Throughout his school years from elementary school to college and career, John made a great number of friends, maintaining these friendships throughout his life.
He met his wife, Camelia (Cammie) Soof, in 1970. John and Cammie married on April 4, 1976 and made a beautiful life together. They lived at their home in Sterling Heights, Michigan for twenty-one years. They were blessed with the adoption of their two beautiful daughters, Danielle Marie Dudek and Amanda Rene Dudek. In 1997, the family moved to their current home in Oakland Township, Michigan. The Dudek family was blessed again when Amanda gave birth to her wonderful son, John Cameron. John was supportive, protective and proud of his family.
John loved God and prayed every day.
John loved life.
John loved his family.
John loved his friends.
John loved his country and was very patriotic.
He enjoyed making new friends and continued to do so, up until his last days. Being a good listener and a great conversationalist, John built relationships with people that made an impact upon their lives. John’s sense of humor, wit, and ability to tell stories entertained those around him.
John had an illustrious career. He was well-established in the advertising art community as a very talented and creative designer. John received many accolades and awards for his work, but always remained humble. He had the opportunity to design and art-direct for hundreds of clients, e.g. Chicago Bears, General Motors, Universal Studios, WGN, WJR, Carhartt, CBS Fox, Sports Authority, Cadillac Club, La-Z-Boy, The Muppets, to name a few.
John was a fighter until the end. He died from a weak heart that gave out after a long battle. He always kept his attitude positive with the prayers and the support that surrounded him. He regrets that he will not be here to see his grandson grow up and that he cannot continue to grow his relationship with his future son-in-law, Daniel Mosher.
John was an only child, now joining his parents in heaven. He is survived by his loving wife, Cammie, and his daughters who adored him – Danielle Dudek Mosher, Amanda Rene Dudek, and his darling grandson – John Cameron Mazur. He also leaves behind aunts, an uncle, cousins, and his multitude of friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, February 17 from 10:00 am through the noon Memorial Service at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R.
