James T. Barvais Jr.'s Obituary
James T. Barvais, Jr. age 59 of Lapeer, Michigan and formerly of Wichita, Kansas passed away on February 21, 2025 at home. He was born on December 15, 1965.
Beloved son of James T. Barvais, Sr. and the late Lydia Margot Barvais. Loving father of Sean Barvais and step-father of J. Matthew Honto (Julia). He is survived by his former wife Rita Barvais and companion Karen Glasko. Grandfather of Adalynn and Oliver. Brother of Robert Barvais (Brenda) and sister Julie McCausland. Also survived by nieces: Bailey, Taylor and Marin and nephews: Carter and Connor.
Worked in sales and other positions over the years, but construction work was his true passion. He was a self employed contractor and loved using his talents to help and bless others. He loved attending his son’s hockey games and other events. Enjoyed fishing, golf and living by the lake to enjoy nature, boating and sitting around a bon fire. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Oklahoma Sooners fan, also a Detroit sports enthusiast. Loved spending time with his family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 7th from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm and the Celebration of Life Service to be held on Saturday, March 8th at 1:00 pm (church doors will open at 11:00 am) at the Free Will Baptist Church, 302 E. 13 Mile Road, Madison Heights, Michigan.
