Herman Clay Ramsey's Obituary
Herman Clay Ramsey, of Roseville, Michigan went to be with the Lord on Thursday night, August 1, 2024. He was at home with family when he passed peacefully from this life to the next. He was 90 years old.
Herman was born to Douglas and Sarah “Ellen” (Stout) Ramsey on September 27, 1933 in Dickenson County, Virginia. He was the 2nd of 8 children Doug and Ellen raised. His siblings listed in birth order are Raymond (Eunice), Leamond (Marianne), Edith “Fern”, Sammy (Cleta), Elmer (Marie), Henry (Beulah), and Bobby (Patti).
Herman moved to metro Detroit to find employment at General Motors. He worked at General Motors for 38.1 years.
Herman was a loving dad and cherished grandpa. He loved baseball and rooted for the Detroit Tigers. He even named Larry after Frank Larry of the Detroit Tigers who was known as “The Yankee Killer”.
Herman married Anath Bauswell and they were married from 1956 thru 1990. Together they had eight children and raised them in Hazel Park, Michigan. Larry Ramsey (Linda), Shirley Allen (Jim), Sandy Murphy (Randy), Sharon Thrasher (Steve), Nancy Thompson (Dale), Tammie Ramsey (Ron), Jeff Ramsey and Angela Roberts (Tony). He is also survived by many grandchildren & their spouses, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, five of his siblings, and a grandson.
Herman accepted the Lord as his Savior July 7, 2024. He rests in the arms of Jesus now.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan.
He will be laid to rest at Christian Memorial Cultural Cemetery, Rochester Hills.
