Helena Marie Oaks' Obituary
Helena Marie Oaks age 95, of Warren, died on Friday, October 18, 2024 at her home. She was born September 10, 1929 in Fulda, Germany the daughter of the former Gregor and Maria Sorg. Her marriage to Carl A. Oaks was August 19, 1949 in Fulda, Germany.
Helena was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a woman of strong faith, principles, and character and loved her church family. She was a member of the Lord’s Church and worshipped with the Saints at the Parkview church of Christ in Warren where she was loved by many. Those closest to her knew she was smart, hardworking, fiercely independent and proud to be a stubborn German. She missed her family in Germany and loved going back there see them. She was an avid outdoor woman and even climbed a mountain in Colorado when she was 80 years young! She loved to cut her grass and work in her yard and garden. She loved animals, especially horses and her grand pups.
Surviving are 1 son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Diana Oaks of Lochbuie, Colorado, and 2 daughters and son-in-law, Nancy and Tom Major of Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Lory Oaks of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, and 1 grandchild Chris Major as well as several nieces and nephews.
Husband Carl and sisters Else, Paula and Anni preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at 12:00 noon at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
