Helen Marie “Sis” Malega, age 88, of Madison Heights, passed away January 28, 2013. She was born July 27, 1924 in Baraga, to Joseph and Mary (Wadaja) LaJoye. Beloved wife of Peter Malega for 60 years. Loving mother of Debe Malega and Gary Malega. Dear sister of James C. LaJoye. Also survived by her nieces and nephews; Cathy Jump, Jean Jump, Russ (Pam) LaJoye, Ken (Becky) Schrader, Kathy (Caz) Marhle, Beverly (Steve) Aulph, and Mary (Jim) Rauh. “Sis” belonged to the Foresters and was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Fr. James B. Heary, Council 7239, Knights of Columbus in Madison Heights. “Sis”loved baseball, bowling, and playing cards. A memorial service will be held on February 15, 2013 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, Madison Heights, with memorial visitation at 9:30 am, followed by a 10:00 am mass. online condolences at: www.hopcroftfuneraldirectors.com.
