Hazel West's Obituary
Hazel C. West, of Madison Heights, passed away on July 6, 2010 to be with the Lord. Beloved wife of James Darrell West for 66 years. Loving mother of Patricia (Michael) Antushevich and Linda (Timothy) Baker. Grandmother of Jeff (Dawn) Baker, Debra (David) Halsey, Ron (Susan) Baker, and Kimberly (Matt) Roman. Great grandmother of Michael and Madeline Halsey, Noah Baker, Colby and Brianna Baker, and Max and Ben Roman. Sister of Keith (Goldie) Johnson, Terrell (Virginia) Johnson, and Dean Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. She is predeceased by her sister Jesse Johnson. She and her girlfriends came to Michigan, from Kentucky, to work in the factories during World War II. She was employed by Fisher Corporation for 18 years, and has held many other jobs over the years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and gardening, making doll clothes for the grandchildren, and growing flowers and vegetables for the family. Visitation Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 3 pm to 9 pm, with the funeral Monday, July 12, 2010, at 11 am, at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, just north of 13 Mile Rd. (248-585-7770). Interment at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
