Harold Saffer,'s Obituary
Harold Saffer, Sr., age 81 of Warren, died October 26, 2009, at Nightingale Nursing Home in Warren. He was born February 14, 1928, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, to Mary Hanson. Retiring from General Motors, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Mobile Communications Support Unit for Hazel Park, and was a crossing guard for Madison Heights. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Catherine, whom he wed April 15, 1950, in Greensburg, Penn; his daughter Bonnie Chambers and his son Harold Saffer, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren. Visitation Tuesday 2:00-8:00 PM, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R. Road, Hazel Park.
