Harold R. Barr's Obituary
Harold R. Barr, age 86 of Hazel Park, Michigan sadly left us on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1937 in Bridgehampton Township, Michigan.
He is survived by his loving wife Beverly Barr. They were married for 62 years. Beloved by his four children, Raymond (Dianne) Barr, Catherine (John) McKenzie, Peggy (Charlie) Shiplett and Cindy (Sam) Parkinson. He was loved and adored as Papa by his 11 grandchildren, Beverly, Daniel, Bethany, Brittany, Emily, Goldie, Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Miranda and Madison. Harold was also blessed with 22 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, along with Special Friends that he considered family and Fur Baby, Bootsie Boy. He is predeceased by his parents and all of his siblings.
Harold was a proud Veteran of 8 years in the United States Armed Forces and served as a Military Police Officer. He was a proud Mason and a member of the American Legion.
Harold was an avid bowler, card player and all around great man who was loved by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Harold’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 10th at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 47500 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township, Michigan. This will begin at 10:00 am (gathering) with the service at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan.
