Hang Dien Ha's Obituary
Mr. Hang Dien Ha, age 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on September 9, 1936, in Thai Binh, Vietnam, to his parents, Mr. Ha Dien Hanh and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kinh.
In 1954, he married his beloved wife, Mrs. Vu Thi Khen, with whom he shared a lifelong journey of love and devotion until her passing in May 2012.
He was preceded in death by his siblings: Ha Dien Hieu (1923–1925), Ha Dien Hanh (1926–2006), and Ha Thi Co (1929–2010). He is survived by his siblings: Ha Thi The (Oklahoma), Ha Dien Dien (Saigon, Vietnam), and Ha Thi Can (Saigon, Vietnam). He is lovingly remembered by his ten children: Ha Thi Hau, Ha Thi Tuyet, Ha Thi Thuy, Ha Dien Phuc, Ha Dien Duc, Ha Dien Quang, Ha Dien Thanh, Ha Thi Van, Ha Dien Hung (Michael), Ha Dien Hien; along with 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Ha served in the Army of the Republic of Vietnam in the equipment department prior to 1975. Following the fall of Saigon, he relocated to Vung Tau, where he worked as a fisherman.
In 1982, he courageously left Vietnam by fishing boat with several family members, including his two youngest sons and two eldest daughters with their families. After being rescued at sea by an Indonesian vessel, he was brought to Indonesia, where he lived as a refugee for one year before being sponsored to the United States.
He initially settled in Houston, Texas, and later made his home in Detroit, Michigan. He was a devoted member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Warren, Michigan.
Mr. Ha found joy in gardening and cooking, and he was known for his warm hospitality, always welcoming visitors with kindness and generosity. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted Catholic who prayed daily. He lived his life with honesty and spoke truthfully with sincerity and conviction.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 10th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 11th starting with 9:30 am Instate followed by the 10:00 am Mass at Our Lady of Grace, 26256 Ryan Road, Warren, Michigan 48091. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.
