Granville Eugene Hampton, age 88 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away November 19, 2015 at his home. He was born September 2, 1927 in Paragould, Arkansas.
Beloved Husband of Helen (maiden Grice) Hampton for 62 years. Dear Father of Keith (Elizabeth) Hampton, Harold (Cynthia) Hampton, Lois (Donald) Wiggins and Earl (Rebecca) Hampton. Grandfather of 8. Great-grandfather of 6. Brother of Dorothy Slatton, Dora Weiss, Avery Hampton, Betty Faulkner, Wilbur Hampton, Thelma Dingler, Wanda Rogers, Laura Carter, the late William Hampton and the late Floyd Hampton.
Granville retired from GM after forty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He served as a Deacon and was a 50 year member of the First Free Will Baptist Church of Hazel Park, Michigan. He moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1947.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22nd from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with the Funeral Service to be held on Monday, November 23rd at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial to take place at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
