Gordon “Gordie” Pickering died unexpectedly on April 1st, 2020 in Madison Heights, MI at the age of 61. He was born on October 13, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Henry and Gloria (maiden Congdon) Pickering. Gordon is survived by Read Obituary
Just wanted to say hi there gordie miss you very much just sitting here thinking about your passing one year ago. Give mom and dad a kiss and hug for me. Hopefully you are having a grand time with them. I’m just going to say I miss you so much love you
Gordie was an outstanding employee for the past 36 years. Gordie was also the plant Manager in our Headquarters manufacturing facility, in both Warren and Lake Orion. He has helped the Cole family in a personal and professional way. He never procrastinated at anything and his only interest was getting the job done. He was a talented machinist and was excellent with his hands. Gordie was instrumental in the moving of our headquarters from Warren to Lake Orion. He was a very extraordinary individual and will be sorely missed by so many people. Our most sincere condolences to Tina and family.

I have known Gordie since I was 18 years old from working with him at Cole Carbide. Throughout that time, he has been a friend. He was always there to lend a hand anytime anywhere anyplace. Gordie was very sentimental in remembering celebrations of Birthdays, and occasions. He was always there for anyone and always made time to lend a hand. He genuinely cared for his family and his sense of humor was always welcome. He tried to keep in good standing with all his siblings. He always looked forward to his hiking and the fishing trips that he would go on. I do know he loved to do work on the people’s homes around their neighborhood and he took great pride and satisfaction that it was done correctly for them. We will miss him very much!

Gordie was always good for a laugh and very quick witted. I worked with him for 32 years and always enjoyed my visits with him. He was a huge asset and will be missed by all of us. Fly high and if there’s a way I can get that Trump vote in for you I’ll do my best.
My condolences to Gordie's family. He was a true friend and mentor to me for 17yrs at Cole. He will be missed!
Gordie took me and my dad to the gun range a few years ago. It was my first time and he told me I aimed like a pro(even though I didn’t). He bought me my first pepper spray because he wanted me to stay safe in California! I still have it. Thank you Gordie for being a great friend to my dad all these years and for always being so caring!

Tina and family, I a so truly sorry for your loss. Gordy was such a funny, great guy. He was so kind to me when Don passed away and was a true friend to Johnny and Carol. May he rest in peace and may God wrap his arms around you in your time of sorrow.
