Goble Jackson's Obituary
Goble Jackson, age 92, of Royal Oak, MI passed away October 19, 2014. He was born June 3, 1922 in Hickman County, Kentucky.
Loving son of the late Virgi Burgess and step father Gentry O’Neal. Dear father of E. Ray (Barbara) Jackson. Survived by sister Catherine Etherton. Predeceased by siblings Arlie O’Neal, Homer O’Neal, Adell Rich, Agnes Wooten, Deanie O’Neal and Ruth Bobo. Grandfather of Robert E. Jackson. Great Grandfather of Ethan R. Jackson and Dylan McCallum. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Northeastern High School in Detroit, MI in 1940. On April 4, 1942 he married Alzy (Burgess) Jackson in Bowling Green, Ohio. Alzy passed December 3, 2005 after 63 years of marriage.
Goble served in the Army Air Corp with the 603 Air Engineering Squad, 509 Composite Group during World War II, stationed in Tinian.
He had a love of camping, fishing and playing cards.
Prior to retiring in 1986, Goble worked for Vickers Inc. for 46 years.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 3pm to 9pm. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 11am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel. Burial at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Twp., MI.
