GERALD WARNER SUTINEN, SR. “SUTTY” died August 10, 2009. A former resident of Hazel Park, he resided in Madison Heights for many years. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors and was active in many softball leagues. Surviving are his children Susan L. Simmons, Gerald Warner Jr. “Chip” (Sharon), Teresa J. (John) Holland and Jeffrey S. Sutinen; grandchildren Joshua, Andrew, Stephanie, Ashley and Justin; and sister Dolores Nimer. Memorial gathering Thursday 4:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights.
