Frank Thomas' Obituary
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Frank Thomas on June 22, 2026. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and the love he gave so freely to the family that meant everything to him.
Frank shared an incredible 60 years of marriage with the love of his life, Caral. Together, they built a beautiful family and a life filled with love, commitment, laughter, and memories that will be cherished forever. Their marriage was a true example of devotion and partnership, and the life they created together became the foundation of a family who loved him deeply.
Frank was a proud father to Teri Lee, Wendy (Rick), and Michael (Sherri), and he carried in his heart the memory of his beloved daughter, Kimberly, who preceded him in death. Family was never just important to Frank - It was his whole world.
One of Frank’s greatest joys in life was being a grandfather to Zach, Jared, Jeremy, Jacob, Abby, Holden, and Connor. He loved watching his family grow and was especially proud to become great-grandfather to Eli. He also carried with him the love and memory of his grandson Alex, who passed before him and remained forever part of his heart.
He is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Nancy and Mary Ellen, and is now reunited with his brother, Terry, who preceded him in death.
If you knew Frank, you knew he appreciated life’s simple joys. He loved fishing - the quiet peace of the water, the time spent outdoors, and the moments shared with family and friends. He also had a deep love for music of all kinds, enjoying everything from old favorites to new sounds, always appreciating the way music brought people together and added joy to everyday life. If there was University of Michigan football on, Frank was watching. A loyal fan through the years, he loved cheering on the Wolverines and enjoyed the excitement, tradition, and camaraderie that came with every season.
Frank was the kind of man who showed his love not always through words, but through presence, hard work, loyalty, and always being there when his family needed him. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose strength and love helped shape the lives of those around him.
The space he leaves behind cannot be filled, but the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will stay with all of us forever.
We will miss his smile, his quiet strength, his steady presence and simply knowing he was always there.
Though he is no longer with us, he will remain forever in our hearts.
A life well lived. A man deeply loved. A legacy that will never fade.
