Frank S. Carline's Obituary
Frank S. Carline, resident of Berkley, Michigan for over 60 years died August 13, 2015. Born August 4th 1924, he just celebrated his 91st birthday. Frank was born in Glasgow, Scotland. He is predeceased by his mother Anna who died at a very young age. Therefore, his father James (deceased) brought Frank and his brother John (deceased) to the United States. His little sister Anna (deceased) resided in Canada with their aunt.
Upon graduating Madison Heights High School class of 1942, he entered the Marine Corps and served our country during World War II.
Corporal Frank Carline married Shirley Coles (deceased) in 1946 at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. He is survived by 3 children, Christine (the late Ken), Frank (the late Toni), Kathy (Ted) and predeceased by his 2 children Jimmy and Annette. Frank has 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Frank was a member of the F.O.E. Hazel Park, American Legion of Berkley and the Gentleman Songsters. He was an active member of St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Hazel Park. He was an energetic member of the choir, church vestry and assistant lay-reader. He became a member of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church after St. Margaret’s was closed. Frank worked for Heidrich’s Tool & Die until it closed and then Chrysler. He was a proud union member.
In later years, he entertained the residents at Cambridge East, by singing and playing the harmonica. He very much enjoyed playing bingo and he would skip his lunch to find his seat.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, Madison Heights, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 17th, Instate 10:00 am with Services at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, 1434 E. 13 Mile Road, Madison Heights, Michigan.
