Floyd Bronkowski,'s Obituary
Floyd R. Bronkowski, Sr., age 83 of Madison Heights, passed away peacefully at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, on Dec. 7, 2009, after suffering heart failure. Mr. Bronkowski was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Oct. 2, 1926. Surviving are his daughter Bonnie (James) Adams of Troy and son Floyd Jr. of Roseville; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brothers Eugene, Rolland and Jerry; his step children; and long time companion Lilly Ferguson. He was preceded in death by wife Rose Bronkowski. A four time U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, who served extended duty as a Gunnery Sergeant, Mr. Bronkowski served in the Pacific Fleet from 1944 to 1957, receiving many awards, including a letter of appreciation from President Harry Truman. He was truly one of the silent heroes of today. Retiring from Special Research Heat Treat of Troy in 1988, he lived a peaceful life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be Sunday 3-9 PM, with the funeral Monday 11:00 AM, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak.
