Florence Ann Messina's Obituary
Florence Messina, affectionately known as Aunt Flo, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026 in her home surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, generosity and quiet strength. She is survived by her Brother Vince [Marilou], Sister Barbara McGhee [late Clarence], Brother Frank, Nephew Aaron, Niece Ariane Stremmell [Benjamin] and Surrogate Nieces Ashley Mukhtar and Jaclyn Lindsey.
Florence found joy in life's simple beautiful moments. She loved gardening and took great pride in nurturing flowers and plants, finding peace and purpose in watching things grow. Her gardens were a reflection of who she was-patient, nurturing, and full of life. She also had a profound love for animals, supporting countless animal organizations whenever she could, always wanting to help those without a voice.
Family meant everything to Florence, she also held a deep love for those she considered family, she poured her heart into caring for and supporting those she loved, offering comfort and support-a safe place in a busy world.
Florence lived a life rooted in generosity, empathy and quiet service. Whether through small gestures or meaningful acts of kindness, she made the world a better place simply by being in it and her memory will forever be a blessing.
A celebration of Florence's life will be held during spring, on May 16, 2026 at her family residence in her beloved garden. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to local animal rescue organizations and any organizations designed to conserve nature by planting trees in her honor, helping to continue her legacy of compassion.
