Farley Gaines Ray, age 78, a 53 year resident of Hazel Park passed away March 17, 2014. He was born April 2, 1935 in Flag Pond, TN. Beloved husband of the late Joan M. Ray nee VanSlambrouck and the late Mary Jane Ray. Loving father of Rosemary (Paul) Dowell nee Jarrell, Richard Jarrell, Karen (Mark) Schlorff nee Jarrell, Janice (Rod Andrus) Monte nee Jarrell, Vicky (Robert) Muccino nee Ray, Tamara (James) Barnes nee Ray and Kristine (Jerome Glugla) Garmany nee Ray. Step Father of Annette (Darin) Jordan nee Myers and Edward (Connie) Myers. Dear Grandfather of 16 and Great Grandfather of 7. Brother of Glenna (the late Joe) Patton, Wayne (Barbara) Ray and Doran (Donna) Ray. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Farley is a proud veteran of the Army’s 82nd Airborne. He also retired from General Motors in Warren, MI. Visitation will be held Friday, March 21, 2014 from 3pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10:30am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R, Madison Heights, MI 48071.
