Elzie Thacker, Jr., age 94 years of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away on March 19, 2026 at Pomeroy Living, Sterling Heights, Michigan. He was born on March 7, 1932 in Sims Creek, Kentucky to Elza and Brooksie Thacker.
Beloved husband of Emma Thacker for 67 years. Dear father of Larry (Jill) Thacker, Pamela (Robert) Washeleski, Douglas (Jaylane) Thacker, and Bonita (Roger) Tenney. He was the proud Papa to 12 grandchildren and Great Papa to 13 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and eight siblings.
He enjoyed bowling, golf, and breakfast club with his retired co-workers and friends from GM. He loved a good joke.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27th from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon, the Funeral Service with Military Honors at 12:00 noon at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
