Elizabeth "Betty" Stanton's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Stanton, age 95 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away on December 3, 2025 at Henry Ford Ascension Hospital, Madison Heights, Michigan. She was born on October 7, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Martin and Margaret Coyne.
Betty would light up every room she entered with her bright smile and wonderful sense of humor. As the last of three sisters, she carried the strength, wit, and love that defined their bond. She also deeply missed her first love, Leonard Stanton, and spoke of him often with tenderness.
She enjoyed dancing, driving to Florida, and never passed up a good sweet treat. Anyone who knew her can picture her shaking her finger with her crooked arm, always in a playful, loving way that brought laughter to everyone around her.
Betty was loved by many. She welcomed people into her life and treated them like family, and family gatherings were some of her greatest joys. Her “tell it like it is” attitude was priceless and appreciated by everyone who knew her. She wasn’t just beautiful on the outside—she was truly beautiful on the inside.
Mother of Bob (Wendy) Stanton, Ron Stanton, Steve (Tina) Stanton, Jeff Stanton, Keran Wade, and her niece Tina Howell. Grandmother of Lauren Stanton, Elizabeth Stanton, Adam Cosper, Ryan Cosper, Taylor Wade, Cassie Stanton, Megan Gaude, Steve Stanton, and Joe Stanton. Great-Grandmother of Natalie Stanton, Shawn Shoupe, Jedrek Cosper, and Paxton Beranek, Eli Stanton
She was cared for with love and devotion in her final years by Denise Pirl, who cherished Betty as if she were her own mother.
