Earl Stone's Obituary
Earl Stone, age 77 of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on December 25, 2020 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born on February 28, 1943 in Highland Park, Michigan to Taft and Jessie (maiden Goodman) Stone.
Beloved Husband of Polly for over 56 years. Dear Father of Sharron (Paul) Reiner and Ronnie Stone. Grandfather of Shawn (Victoria) Reiner and Jonathan (Megan) Reiner. Brother of Charles (Barbara) Stone.
Earl served as President of the Madison Heights Little League Baseball for the past 34 years. He was the Manager of the Pee Wee Blue Jays, Farm Pirates and Pony Cardinals. He oversaw the building of the baseball complex at Page Middle School in Madison Heights. He was known throughout Madison Heights as Mr. Baseball.
He was recognized by the State of Michigan for his accomplishments in Youth Baseball and also received many awards locally for his achievements with the Madison Heights Little League Baseball program, including Citizen of the Year. Earl also served on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board in Madison Heights.
Earl retired from GM Truck & Bus Pontiac as an Experimental Engineer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31st from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with the Funeral Service at 11:30 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block North of 13 Mile Road, West side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Madison Heights Little League Baseball or the Michigan Animal Rescue League.
