Dora LaLonde's Obituary
Dora LaLonde, age 90 of Hazel Park, Michigan passed away on December 10, 2015 in College Park, Maryland, with family at her bedside. She was born on June 27, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Florence Allen.
Wife of the late Earl LaLonde (deceased 1994). Mother of Paula (Joe) Dart, Linda (Joe) Shaw, Laurence (Sandi) LaLonde, Patrick (Pam) LaLonde and Janice (Martin) Benton. Grandmother of Obadiah Dart, Joliannah Dart, Michelle Baum, Becky Dean, Sam LaLonde, Jenny Masterson, Mike LaLonde, Sarah Jasinski and Matt Benton. Great-Grandmother of 16. Sister-in-Law of Gerry Nicosia and Doris (Dean) Moats. Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews.
Working for over 30 years at Jardon School as a secretary to the Principal was a cherished part of her life. She loved to read, travel and above all to be with her family and friends. Dora was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Mary Magdalen Church for over 70 years.
Per Dora’s wishes, her body has been donated to scientific research. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, December 14th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Rosary at 7:00 pm, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R. Road (South West Corner of John R. Road and 9 1/2 Mile Road / Woodward Heights), Hazel Park, Michigan. Memorial Funeral Mass to be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 10:30 am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park, Michigan. Fr. Bob Malloy, OFM Cap. will officiate.
