Donald Demarse's Obituary
Donald A. Demarse, 85, a resident of Madison Heights, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at St. John Oakland Hospital, Madison Heights. He was born June 13, 1923 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Demarse married his wife, Lydia, Feb. 17, 1942. He was a member of the Canadian Army and later, after relocating to the United States, he was the original owner of the U-Haul lot on 11 Mile Road east of John R., Madison Heights.
Mr. Demarse is survived by his wife, Lydia; children, June (Tom) Longo, Darlene (Pete) Beaulieu, Pamela (Dave) Peck, Donna (Frank) Accetta, Donald (Marie) Demarse Jr., Dale (Jodi) Demarse, Tim (Robin) Demarse, Lisa (Dave) Burris and Dawn (Ken) Whisler; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; and 15 siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Hopcroft Funeral Home, 23919 John R., Hazel Park. Deacon Mike Cummins will officiate. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday.
