Diane Louise Flores' Obituary
Diane Louise Flores (nee Gardner) passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 16th, 2023, at the age of 66.
Diane was born in Royal Oak, Michigan and remained a resident of southeastern Michigan her entire life. She attended Eastern Michigan University, where she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching with a double-major of literature and English language. It was there that she met her husband Jose. Following graduation, she dedicated her life to her family and resided in Ferndale for many years before moving to and retiring in Richmond.
Diane enjoyed many passions in life. True to her name, she loved gardening and, no matter how small the space, would grow a bountiful harvest. She was a talented cook and maintained an interest in cuisine from across the globe. She was a lifelong fan of the game show Jeopardy!. She was an avid reader and collector of books of all kinds; she often stated that "You have to read the bad stuff to know what the good stuff is." She passed down these passions, and more, to her children.
Diane is preceeded in death by her beloved parents Clayton and Ruth. She is survived by her husband Jose, her sister Jeanette, her three children, Roberto, Daniel, and Christina, and her four grandchildren, Eden, Alex, Avron, and Violet.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 25th beginning at 10:00 am (Instate) followed by the 11:00 am Service at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 22323 S. Chrysler Drive, Hazel Park, Michigan. Burial will take place at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, Michigan.
