Dennis Novak's Obituary
Dennis Novak, age 73 years of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away on June 25, 2025 at Corewell Health Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan. He was born on April 8, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan to Gerald J. Novak and Madonna (maiden Durkee) Novak.
Beloved Husband of Deborah Novak. They married on August 5, 1972 at the Salvation Army Church, Royal Oak, Michigan. Dear Father of Andrea Hargrave-Thomas and her husband Nathan. Grandfather of Tyler Hargrave-Thomas and Ryan Hargrave-Thomas. Dennis is predeceased by his parents and siblings, Edward Novak, Paula Corwin and Steven Novak.
Dennis also lived in Detroit, Royal Oak and Clawson during his lifetime. Graduated from Dondero High School, Royal Oak in 1970. After graduation he went into the tool and die industry, becoming a machinist. When he retired, he was doing computer programming for the machines. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
For Dennis, his family was the most important treasure in his life. He loved watching and cheering on both of his grandchildren during all their sporting events. When the grandkids were having trouble gaining weight, Papa Dennis went above and beyond to find foods that would put weight on them.
He loved to cook, especially grilling and smoking. If you left his house hungry, it was your own fault. He loved and appreciated all music genres, but especially classic rock. He loved collecting guitars.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd at 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. Burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
Due to the ongoing construction on John R. Road, it is advised that those who plan on attending the services for Dennis Novak to turn onto Brush Street from 13 Mile Road to use our back entrance.
