Della Mae Staten's Obituary
Della Staten, age 83, passed away at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital.
She was the beloved wife to James Staten and a loving Mother to Rhonda Christensen, Nadine Golden, Sherry (Billy Joe) Gardiner, James (Shelly) Staten, Lori (Frank) Sohei, Deedra Caskey, Duane (Lynn) Staten and Karen (Scott) Hollebrand. She was a cherished Nana to 20 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grand Children and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Della is survived by twin brother Daniel Root, as well as younger brother Troy (Sharon) Root, sister Brenda Colley and brother in law William Webb. She was preceded in death by her grandsons Jason Christensen and Eric Applebee, by brothers Edward Clifton Root, Edgar Clyde Root, Melvin Root, Archie Root and Orvile Amon Root, and sisters Lois Parr, Betty Webb, Mary Susan Fortney and Evelyn Burke.
Della had a deep love for Jesus Christ and her church. She and Jim were long time members of Madison Heights Church of the Nazarene before moving to Florida. She retired from Kennametal and then started a new career at Beaumont Hospital where she retired from in 1998.
Della adored her children and Grand children and had a special tie with each of her Brothers and Sisters.
Visitation and services will be held at Hopcroft Funeral Home located at 31145 John R Rd., Madison Heights, MI 48071. Visitation will be on November 7, 2021 from 3-8pm with the funeral on November 8, 2021 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy, Michigan.
