Deborah Cottongim Timmons, age 51 of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on September 27, 2017 in London, Kentucky. She was born on June 3, 1966 to James Norman Cottongim and Beverly Giles.
Beloved wife of Jason Timmons. Daughter of Beverly Giles and step daughter of Clayton Giles Dear mother of Jaclyn (James Garvey) Kozlowski, Jolie Kozlowski. Grandmother of James Patrick and Adalie Garvey. Sister of Donna Walters and Shirley (Mark) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her father James Norman Cottongim and many aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
She was an animal lover, having two living dogs, Sora and Sarge. Predeceased by her dog Teddy. She was a free spirit, called herself “Groovy Chick,” who loved having fun and lightened up the room with her smile. She was an avid sweepstakes player, winning many things and she loved going to the casino. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 1st from 3-7 pm with a Service at 7 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, Madison Heights (one block north of 13 Mile Road on the west side of John R Road). Monday, October 2nd a chapel service will be held at White Chapel at 11:30 am, 621 W Long Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48098.
