David Derringer's Obituary
David Derringer, age 61 years of Willis, Texas passed away on October 21, 2022 in Hazel Park, Michigan. He was born on November 24, 1960 in Highland Park, MI to Jack and Earlia Derringer.
Beloved Husband of Darlene Derringer. Pre-deceased by his Father Jack Derringer and survived by his Mother Earlia Derringer. Dad to Clint (Bethany) Derringer, Christopher Cotter, Jennifer Swanson, Alexander Armstrong, and Mark Woods. Grandfather of Cael, Bo, Mary, Isabella, Annaleigh, Emery, and Abigail. Also survived by his two sisters Kathryn (Charles) Underwood and Karen Derringer, as well as nephews Jeremy Underwood, Jamie Derringer, Ryan Underwood, Thomas Underwood and his niece Katie Underwood.
David loved the esprit de corps of the Marine Corps that he witnessed by his father. He also had numerous uncles who also volunteered to put their life on the line by signing the enlistment contract. It was in his blood to do the same. He joined the Marine Corps and even after his service, he carried the esprit de corps with him for the rest of his life.
A loyal friend through his entire life, David kept many close friends all across the nation. He was particularly proud of his volunteer service as a docent at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Prince William County, Virginia. David was a lifelong learner and worked as a printer, a truck driver, an IT Consultant, and a support coordinator for FEMA.
Visitation followed by Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 28 at 10:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral Service will be held Friday at 12:00 pm. Burial and Military Honors will be held at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
