Clifford always listened to people, never left anyone out and had a real passion for serving the Lord. This translated into his faithful service of more than 66 years of teaching and preaching, in churches throughout Michigan as well as mission work in Caracas, Venezuela and Panama. Additionally, Clifford was well known and respected in the local community where he served as president of his condominium complex and volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Literacy Council; which was so appropriate as he loved to challenge his family to the Word Power in the Reader’s Digest and relished beating them in Scrabble. He was a very caring and compassionate person, and always put the needs of others before his own. A very descriptive and great story teller, he was able to command anyone’s attention and was a natural born leader. Always light hearted and quick with a funny story or memory, Clifford had a fun tendency to refer to his “loved-ones” by original nicknames.
It was the simple things around him in life that Clifford never took for granted, commenting daily how fortunate and thankful he was. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him after his passing.
As the assistant minister and member of the Royal Oak Church of Christ for many years, he enjoyed worshiping together with his numerous friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to “Panama Missions” Royal Oak Church of Christ at 115 S Campbell Rd, Royal Oak, MI. 48067.
