I was so sorry to hear of the passing of such a beautiful spirit - Clayton knew how to make people laugh and also to carry on conversations, at length, on anything and everything. He had antidotes for just about everything in life and cracked me up at his outlook on so many things. He was a true friend and I so enjoyed having Ruth and Clayton living in our community (Town Village) for a few years before she passed away and he moved to be near family. He still kept in touch and pretty much called me at least twice a month through this past summer. He and Ruth left footprints on our hearts and many terrific memories to cherish. Blessings to his family. You are a true reflection of the love Clayton and Ruth had - rare and special - and now they are together for eternity. Thanks for sharing your mom and dad with us - they were the best!

in honor of Clayton.

My fondest memories of Clayton is of him working at Ashley Scott Funeral home. My father Donald Herring also worked there. Those two were always cracken wise behind closed doors. Clayton always had a smile on his face. My father and I will miss him greatly.
