Clara Freleigh's Obituary
The fun-loving and high-spirited Clara Freleigh was gifted to us from God on December 17, 1928 and began her journey to be home with God and his angels on January 4th, 2015 at 1:36 p.m. She passed away peacefully in her own home surrounded by her many loving family members and friends.
Clara will always be remembered for her strong faith, compassionate heart, and positive attitude about life. Her love for music, gardening, and camping will live through each of her children, thirty-two grandchildren, sixty-seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney & Marjorie Hicks; her sister, Doris, her daughter, Sharon Lea Gaval, and her grandson, Joseph William Freleigh. Who each will welcome her at heavens pearly gates.
She leaves to cherish her sweet memories her seven loving children Marjorie Lynn Leach (Terry), Lawrence (Larry) Wayne Rivington (Eva), Deborah Sue Sawyer, Jesse Joe Freleigh (Eva), Judith Lynn Gerlach, Jamie Sue Hoenighausen (Robert), and John Sidney Freliegh (Tracy).
Clara retired from General Motors after thirty years of service. She was a long-term resident of Royal Oak of nearly fifty years. Clara will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Visitation Wednesday 3 pm – 9 pm, Funeral Service Thursday 11:00 am at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, Madison Heights, MI. She will be laid to rest alongside her daughter, Sharon, at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, MI.
