Celia Pauline Gonzales' Obituary
Celia Pauline Gonzales, age 88 of Madison Heights, Michigan passed away peacefully on March 23, 2022.
Celia, affectionately known as Sally to her friends, and Chea to her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews was born in San Antonio, TX on June 26, 1933 to Minnie and Bernard Balboa.
Beloved wife of Mike L. Gonzales, Sr for 71 years. Mike and Celia moved to Detroit, Mi in 1953 and then moved to Madison Heights, MI in 1961.
Dearest Mother to Miguel (Margie) Gonzales, Jr, Bernard (Maureen) Gonzales, Rudolph (Lyn) Gonzales and Norma (Ronald) Norris.
Grandmother of Mike III, David, Edward, Celina, Carrie Lyn, Tamara, Kathryn, Daniel, Adriana, and Stacey. Celia has 19 great-grandchildren. Celia was preceded in death by grandson, David, brother, Adolph, and her sisters, Mary, Perla, Stella, and Emilia.
Celia was known for her great generosity and devotion to her faith. Family and friends would call and ask for her blessings and prayers, feeling she had a close connection to God. She made daily devotions to her Lord and Savior and never forgot to include all that sought her comfort. She loved her music and dancing and all her kids and grandkids will always remember when she took their hands to dance with her.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27th from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R. Road, (1 block N. of 13 Mile Road, west side of John R. Road), Madison Heights, Michigan. The Funeral will be held on Monday, March 28th beginning with 10:30 am Instate followed by the 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen, 50 E Annabelle Ave, Hazel Park, MI 48030. Burial will take place at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
