Celeste T. Whitney's Obituary
Celestine T. (Celeste) Whitney, age 82 of Ferndale, Mich. passed away May 23, 2014. She was born July 1, 1931 in Detroit.
Beloved daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (Schoeb) Whitney. Dear sister of the late Raymond, Edward, Rex and Mary Elizabeth. Survived by nieces, Denise (Jan) Fulton, Geri (Mike) Leach, Patricia (Frank) Dynda and Carole (Ward) Ladd; nephews, Allen (Sue) Whitney and Raymond (Sandra) Whitney, II.
Celeste was a 1949 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Royal Oak and a member and past officer of the Michigan Archaeological Society. She was a long time member of the Windsor Chapter, Ontario Archaeological Society and traveled extensively with them to historical and archaeological sites throughout Europe and the Middle-East. She was an executive secretary and retired from Wickes Manufacturing Co. Celeste was an active member of St. Mary Parish and for many years did volunteer work at the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
Funeral Wednesday, May 28th; 10:15 am Instate, 11:00 am Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Hazel Park. Burial Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Mich. Memorials to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
