Katie Darby was a very special person who I love and will greatly miss. She was kind and caring and a loving companion for my dad, Stanley. "He is always so good to me," she would say. She always shared a compliment and always asked about my children. At our Christmas parties she was eager to participate in games like Left-Right-Center and our musical chairs gift exchange. And even though she needed her walker she got up and danced at Chris and Ashley's wedding last summer!
She was so appreciative of any little gift or gesture of kindness and always sent little thank you notes in the mail written in her beautiful penmanship. I'll remember Sunday breakfasts at the Ramshorn and dinners at the Avenue. And I'll remember how happy she was at her 90th birthday party last fall! She looked so beautiful in her red suit and that's how I'll remember this lovely lady - Katie Darby!
