Caroline Reese's Obituary
Caroline Reese ‐ March 19, 1930 – May 31, 2018 Loving wife of Walter Richard who preceded her in death in 1994. She knew from the moment she saw him at the skating rink that he was her prince charming. Although he preceded her in death by 24 years – she waited patiently until the time she would rejoin him. So it was fitting that he welcomed her into heaven on his birthday. She was the only daughter of John and Helen Meyers who also preceded her in death. She cared deeply for her 3 brothers Mike (D), Jack (D) and Bill (D). Her BFF for many many years was Minnie DeNardis. All the people who met her were touched by her angelic presence. Sweet Caroline – always said her calling in life was to be a loving mother. She filled this role as mother to 9 children, 7 of which served in the U. S. Military – Kenneth (D), Gerald (Duffy), Karen (D) (Dave), Mary Lou (Bob), Laura (Joe), Bruce (Pam), Patty (Walt), Mark and Barbara (Carlos). She will be missed by many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her and her family grew up as members of St. Justin’s Catholic Church. This was the place where she felt the deep roots of her faith. She was an incredible talented artist and shared her talents with flower arrangements, and sewing of vestments and banners for the church. She was an “Animal Lover of the World” and enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and baking to take care of her family at home. She loved music and had a beautiful voice. She taught all her children to sing and dance through life’s journeys. Her personality lives on in her children through their independence, hard work and love of life. She made us laugh, she made us cry. She would always listen without judgment. She taught us gentleness, unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, true humility, and servant hood. She made us who we are today. We will all miss our mother – friend –mentor and prayer warrior. She will be buried in Trout Lake, MI next to the love of her life.
