I have many memories of Carmella, the one that I'll always remember is a tribute to her kindness. It was July of 1980, I was 23 years old. I had gone to the Freda house to pick up mail and the new owners invited me in to have a look around. Although I don't remember how they had "our" house set up or organized I do remember that the wall where my Mom had all our baby pictures had been transformed to display all there baby pictures. I left feeling lonely and distraught and went straight to the Meehan house on Normile. Carmella and Sue were sitting on the front porch. Carmella could see that I was upset and asked me what was wrong, she had me come sit next to her and put her arms around me while I cried my heart out. That is how she always was to me and how I will always remember her....kind, caring, sweet offering love to someone else's child.
I am sad for all who are grieving and will miss her yet rejoice that she is in her heavenly home. God speed Carmella and lots of love from the Brooks family to the Meehan family.
