Bonnie June Ballard's Obituary
Bonnie June Ballard went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27, 2021 at the age of 95.
She was the wife of Ralph Ballard who preceded her in death, mother of Sylvia (Dave) Hulbert, Martin (Karen) Ballard, grandmother of Kathryn (Tony) Faraj, Noah (Katelyn Krause, Fiancée) Ballard, and great-grandmother of Adeline Faraj.
Born to George W. and Ethel I. Ames on February 12, 1925, she grew up in Mansfield, Indiana and moved to Detroit, Michigan in the early 1940’s. She worked as an elevator operator in the Penobscot Building in Detroit, as a bookkeeper for AT&T, floor sales for J. L. Hudson, and did the accounting for Ralph Ballard Printing, Inc. into the 1980’s. In addition to her many careers, she also raised two children and it brought her great joy to see her children and grandchildren trust Christ at early ages and to seek out godly spouses.
Bonnie trusted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in her late 20’s and sought to serve Him throughout the rest of her life. She served at First Baptist Church of Hazel Park in the Vacation Bible School ministry, the nursery, as a deaconess, and participated in the ladies bible study group. She also supported Ralph and his dedication to the bus ministry.
She leaves a legacy of a godly heritage that will be a blessing for many future generations.
“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations;” Deuteronomy 7:9
