Betty Jean Webb's Obituary
Betty Jean Webb (Root) age 85 of Warren passed away May 4, 2018. Betty was born June 14, 1932 London, Whitley County, Kentucky, to the late Archie Root, Sr. and Alabam Root (Smith). She was the 4th in line in a family of 7 boys and 6 girls.
She is survived by her husband William; one son, Robert (Gail); two daughters, Cuma (Dana) Williams and Susan (David) Robinson; six grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly) Williams, Ryan (Angela) Williams, Matthew (Haley) Robinson, Ashley (Ray) Smith, Kendele (Daniel) Sluka, and Sarah (Sam Jr.) Ableson; and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Edward Root, James Root and Daniel Root; 3 sisters, Lois (Dave) Parr, Brenda (the late Glenn) Colley, and Stella (James) Staten. Preceding her in death were 4 brothers, Edgar, Melvin, Archie Jr., and Amon; and 2 sisters, Mary (Thomas) Fortney and Evelyn (Jerry) Burke.
Betty was a member of the Madison Heights Church of The Nazarene in Madison Heights, teaching Sunday School, serving in Day Care, handling shower and funeral dinners, and was a secretary in Missionary program keeping track of readers who read the Missionary books and in her later years greeted member and visitors and always with a smile on her face.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 7, 2018 from 3-9pm, with the funeral service Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11:00 am, at Hopcroft Funeral Home, 31145 John R Road, Madison Heights. Burial will be in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester Hills.
